Woodland One

When creation falls to chaos, one path remains
Return to the wild
Into the storm, seeking escape
Swallowed whole, the wood is deep
Blood of the wild, flows fast and pure
Noble, unmerciful, boundless
Wending the ways of myriad paths
Drawn by an unearthly aura
Firelight glowing betwixt the trees
Marks the shores of enlightenment
Down from the hills, descent into fog
And there 'neath the fall, it dwells in the shade
O' wise woodland one
Master of consciousness, ruler of the eye
Passage bestowed, journey to infinity
Only one can travel here, only one can see
Shut out all the world
None other shall know, none other shall bathe in the light
At home by the river, in the valley of mist
Days spent in reverie, under sun, moon, and star
Conversing with the elder one, seated upon it's granite throne
Spirit-possessed, bound for the peak to the north
Wind howls across the trackless expanse
Spurred by the gods and a whisper from the dark
Gazing down upon the land from high
Aspect evolved, sight granted through the eye
Shattered perceptions, origin lost to time
Tower rises, a seat to rule the realm
Forge burns bright, consuming all
Donning armour of cognizance
Wielding the blade of verity
Step out into the new world

Shadows at Dusk
17:24
|
|
||
Set out at dayspring, homeland behind
Journey of sacrifice
Organic ritual, inexorable drive
Embark upon the hunt
And the quiet stretches under the high sun
Forested vista, arborous sanctum
Travel onward to seclusion
Under cover of shadow lay the portal to the night
Slip into the umbrage and be still
All is no longer as it were, a face so fair
By scattered moonlight framed by strands of fire
Wings unfurl to suffocate, embrace to crush the mind
Fervent maw envelops, condemned
Howls of fiendish laughter resound off the stones
Head of thunder rearing to blacken the firmament
Horns, twisted, eyes of flame, ancient, looming deceit
Lured by the dream, bound to it's world, doomed to burn
Voices on the wind, tortured screams drawing in
Impulse to obey, oath of release
Fatal human form, fated to ruin
Weakened senses destined for the grave
The shadows descend
Dragged through gardens of ash, swirling, noxious mass
Thrown at the feet of the lord of betrayal
The baler grins with glee, dominance complete
"There is no escape. Maggot, scum, you belong to me"
Wallow, for days without end
In the destruction of the self
Feeding the daemons of consequence
Their eager faces await the fall
Sentenced to languish in the filth and decay
And long for a death that will never come

Sylvan Fastness

Alone...
White, curling beauty, smouldering defeat
Fleeting ambition, stifling empty space
Sink down amidst the roots, to dwell beneath the loam
To preserve the rhythm of the natural world
To nourish the earth, a binding atonement
Seek asylum, escape her eye
Drifting through the birches and evergreens
Pale raiment shrouds clawed limbs
Never beyond reach, maiden of dreams
Foregone ones shelter, fathers of salvation
Release, reveal, unearth
Sifting through the remnants, wretched, disused
Cast down upon a plane of hatred
Shining through the murk, mother of the wood
Foregone ones watch over, fathers of creation
Cold rains of the spring time, cleansing vernal cloud burst
Enkindles revival
Shoots piercing through fertile soil under melting snows
Ascend to divinity
Moss covered walls form from the stones and old growth
Sylvan fastness
Foregone ones edify
Sylvan fastness
Foregone ones encompass existence
Sylvan fastness
